Mental Disorders
Medications are used to treat many of the symptoms of mental disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder (sometimes called manic-depressive illness), and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Many times these medications are also used for treatments for psychotherapy.
Mental health patients need to be very careful about taking their medications correctly. Pick a specific day and time each week to load your medications into one of our multi-med cards. Keep your card in a place where you’ll see it every day (e.g., on your dresser or next to your toothbrush).
Try to take your medications at the same time of day each day and pick a time when you’re home (for example, when you wake up in the morning, at lunch time, afternoon tea or when you go to sleep at night). You can also set automated reminders such as a daily alarm on your cell phone or computer.
By using our multi-med card you’ll have a tool that you’ll need to help control your medication intake and protect your health.
